Bob Dylan / Basement Tapes

The Basement Tapes is a historic studio album by Bob Dylan and The Band, officially released on June 26, 1975, by Columbia Records. The recordings originated in 1967 in Woodstock, New York, while Dylan was recovering from a notorious 1966 motorcycle accident. Sessions took place at Dylan's home and in the basement of a house nicknamed "Big Pink," where members of the Band lived. The music famously shifted American popular music away from psychedelic rock toward a roots-oriented, lo-fi aesthetic that laid the foundation for the Americana genre.
