Cage the Elephant is the debut studio album by the American rock band Cage the Elephant. Produced by Jay Joyce, the self-titled record was first released in Europe on June 23, 2008, followed by a United States release on March 24, 2009. Fusing elements of funk, punk rock, and southern alternative rock, the album launched the band into mainstream prominence and eventually achieved platinum certification by the RIAA.
