Jethro Tull / Thick As A Brick

Released on March 3, 1972, Thick as a Brick by the British rock band Jethro Tull is widely considered a defining masterpiece of progressive rock—ironically conceived as a complete parody of the genre. Frontman Ian Anderson wrote the album in response to music critics who insistently labeled their previous record, Aqualung, a "concept album". Anderson decided to mock the critics by serving up the most bombastic, over-the-top concept record possible.
