The Search for Everything is the seventh studio album by American singer-songwriter John Mayer, released on April 14, 2017, by Columbia Records. Written as a loose concept album dealing with the emotional aftermath of a major breakup, the project marks a sonic shift from his previous Americana records back to a blend of pop, R&B, blues, and soul. To avoid overwhelming listeners, Mayer famously rolled the project out in stages, releasing Wave One and Wave Two as four-track EPs before dropping the complete 12-track LP.
