MTV Unplugged in New York is the legendary first live album by American rock band Nirvana, released on November 1, 1994. Recorded on November 18, 1993, at Sony Music Studios in Manhattan, it captured a raw and intimate acoustic performance. Released seven months after front man Kurt Cobain's death, it debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard charts and won a Grammy Award for Best Alternative Music Album.
