Turtles / Battle of the Bands

The Turtles Present the Battle of the Bands is the fourth studio album by American rock band the Turtles, released on November 1, 1968, by White Whale Records. It is a unique concept album where the band members pretend to be 11 different fictional groups (plus a 12th "opening" track), with each song performed in a distinct musical style ranging from bluegrass and country to surf rock and psychedelia. Despite its ambitious premise and critical acclaim for its satirical humor, the album peaked at only No. 128 on the Billboard Pop Albums chart.
